Bellatrix Aerospace Raises $20 Million to Scale Satellite Propulsion Systems for Global Demand
Space-tech startup Bellatrix Aerospace has raised $20 million in a fresh funding round led by Cactus Partners, with participation from multiple new and existing investors. The funding marks a key milestone as the company accelerates its efforts to meet the rising global demand for satellite propulsion systems.
Founded in 2015 by Rohan M Ganapathy and Yashas Karanam, Bellatrix Aerospace specializes in building electric and chemical propulsion technologies for satellites. The company has developed a strong reputation for its fully integrated, in-house manufacturing model, enabling it to maintain high levels of quality, innovation, and reliability.

The newly raised capital will be deployed to scale manufacturing capacity, support ongoing customer programs, and strengthen production capabilities. As the space industry witnesses a surge in satellite launches and constellation deployments, the demand for efficient and reliable propulsion systems has increased significantly.
Bellatrix Aerospace’s propulsion solutions are designed to enable satellites to maneuver, maintain orbit, and extend their operational lifespans, making them a critical component of modern space missions. The company’s technologies have already been flight-proven, reinforcing its credibility among global customers and partners.

With a growing order pipeline, Bellatrix is now shifting its focus toward high-volume production and operational scalability. This transition reflects the broader evolution of the space industry, from experimental missions to commercial-scale deployments, particularly driven by satellite constellations supporting communication, navigation, and earth observation services.
The global space-tech ecosystem is rapidly expanding, with private companies playing a crucial role in innovation and cost reduction. India, in particular, is emerging as a strong hub for space startups, supported by policy reforms and increasing investor interest.

Bellatrix Aerospace’s ability to combine advanced propulsion technology with scalable manufacturing positions it as a key enabler in this ecosystem. Its solutions cater to both small satellites and larger spacecraft, offering flexibility across mission requirements.
As satellite constellations continue to grow, the need for efficient propulsion systems that can be produced at scale will become even more critical. Bellatrix’s focus on reliability, performance, and production readiness gives it a competitive edge in capturing this opportunity.
With strong investor backing, proven technology, and a clear roadmap, Bellatrix Aerospace is well-positioned to power the next generation of space missions, contributing to the global expansion of satellite infrastructure and the commercialization of space.
