Aman Gupta Unveils New Venture OffBeat Studios After Stepping Back From boAt’s Daily Operations
boAt cofounder Aman Gupta has announced the launch of his new venture, OffBeat Studios, marking a fresh chapter in his entrepreneurial journey after stepping away from the day-to-day operations of the IPO-bound consumer electronics brand.
Gupta revealed the announcement through a post on X (formerly Twitter), sparking curiosity across the startup ecosystem. While the exact details of the new venture remain undisclosed, Gupta’s message hinted at a bold new beginning.
“With every birthday, some grow older; I grow bolder. I am still hungry, still impatient and still driven. Aman 2.0 begins soon. Introducing my new venture, @Offbeatstudios1,” he wrote in the post.

The announcement comes months after Gupta transitioned into a non-executive director role on boAt’s board in September 2025, stepping back from operational responsibilities at the company he helped build into one of India’s most successful consumer electronics brands.
Around the same time, boAt announced a leadership restructuring. The company appointed Gaurav Nayyar as CEO, while cofounder Sameer Mehta took on the role of executive director, focusing on strategy. The leadership changes were seen as part of a broader effort to strengthen the company’s governance structure as it prepares for a potential public listing.
Founded in 2016, boAt has grown into a dominant player in India’s audio and wearable electronics market, known for its affordable headphones, earbuds and smartwatches targeted at young consumers. The brand has built a strong community-driven marketing strategy and has collaborated with celebrities, influencers and sports leagues to strengthen its appeal among millennials and Gen Z.

Gupta himself became a widely recognised face in the startup ecosystem after appearing as an investor on the popular television show Shark Tank India, where his candid style and marketing insights made him one of the show’s most talked-about judges.
The launch of OffBeat Studios also comes at a time when boAt is preparing for its second attempt at an initial public offering (IPO). The company had earlier planned a ₹2,000 crore IPO in 2022, but shelved the listing due to unfavourable market conditions. In 2025, the company revived its plans and began working toward a fresh listing strategy.
While Gupta has not yet revealed the focus area of OffBeat Studios, industry observers believe the venture could explore opportunities in content, brand storytelling, creator economy, or new-age consumer platforms, areas closely aligned with Gupta’s expertise in marketing and community building.
As anticipation builds around the new venture, one thing is clear: Aman Gupta’s entrepreneurial journey is far from slowing down. With “Aman 2.0” now underway, the startup ecosystem will be watching closely to see what his next big bet turns out to be.
