Defencetech Startup Constelli Raises $20 Mn to Accelerate Indigenous Electronic Warfare Capabilities

Hyderabad-based defencetech startup Constelli has raised $20 million (approximately ₹182 crore) in a fresh funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from 360 ONE Asset and existing investor Pravega Ventures. The round marks a significant milestone for the startup as it scales its efforts to build advanced, mission-critical defence technologies from India for global applications.

Founded in 2017 by Satya Gopal Panigrahi and Avinash Chenreddy, Constelli operates at the intersection of advanced signal processing, radar systems, and electronic warfare (EW). The company focuses on developing high-performance electronic warfare and communication payloads that can be deployed across multiple defence platforms, including drones, ground-based systems, naval vessels, and satellites.

The fresh capital will be primarily deployed toward accelerating research and development in electronic warfare and secure communications. As modern battlefields become increasingly software-defined and spectrum-contested, EW capabilities have emerged as a strategic priority for defence forces worldwide. Constelli’s systems are designed to support real-time threat detection, signal intelligence, and tactical decision-making in complex operational environments.

In addition to R&D, the startup plans to invest heavily in building infrastructure for rapid prototyping and early-stage production. This move is aimed at shortening development cycles and enabling faster deployment of field-ready systems, an important advantage in defence programs where timelines and reliability are critical. By strengthening its in-house manufacturing and testing capabilities, Constelli is positioning itself to move from prototype to production more efficiently.

Constelli’s product portfolio includes telemetry receivers, electronic warfare simulators, tactical radios, and other advanced EW subsystems used for real-time threat analysis and operational readiness. These systems are designed to meet stringent aerospace and defence standards, reinforcing the company’s role as a supplier of mission-critical technologies rather than experimental prototypes.

The funding round also reflects growing investor confidence in India’s defencetech ecosystem, particularly in startups that align with the country’s push for indigenisation and self-reliance in defence manufacturing. With increasing global demand for electronic warfare solutions and secure communication systems, Constelli is well-positioned to expand both domestically and internationally.
