Amazon Inaugurates Its Second-Largest Asia Office in Bengaluru, Reinforcing Long-Term India Commitment

Global technology and e-commerce major Amazon has officially inaugurated its second-largest office in Asia in Bengaluru, marking a major milestone in the company’s long-term India strategy. The newly launched campus spans 1.1 million square feet across 12 storeys and is designed to support over 7,000 employees across ecommerce, technology, operations, payments, and seller services.

Located on a five-acre site in North Bengaluru, approximately 15 kilometers from Kempegowda International Airport, the facility is built to enable large-scale collaboration while bringing multiple Amazon business units under one roof. The campus features adaptable workspaces, modern infrastructure, and thoughtfully designed environments to support innovation, productivity, and cross-functional teamwork.

The launch of this office further strengthens Bengaluru’s reputation as one of Amazon’s most important global tech and corporate hubs. Often referred to as India’s Silicon Valley, the city already hosts thousands of Amazon employees and plays a critical role in driving product development, engineering, and operational excellence for the company’s global and India-specific businesses.

Amazon’s new Bengaluru campus reflects the company’s broader and sustained investment in India. Over the years, Amazon has committed billions of dollars toward building local infrastructure, strengthening logistics networks, enabling seller growth, and nurturing India’s rapidly expanding digital economy. The new office is a continuation of that vision, focused on long-term growth rather than short-term expansion.

By housing teams from ecommerce, payments, operations, and seller services together, Amazon aims to accelerate decision-making and foster deeper collaboration across functions. The campus has been designed to scale with the company’s evolving needs, supporting both current teams and future growth as Amazon continues to expand its footprint in the country.

The inauguration also highlights India’s growing importance in Amazon’s global operations. From building products for Indian customers and sellers to developing technology used worldwide, teams based in Bengaluru play a pivotal role in shaping Amazon’s innovation roadmap.

As Amazon deepens its roots in India, the new Bengaluru office stands as a symbol of confidence in the country’s talent ecosystem, digital infrastructure, and long-term economic potential. It reinforces Amazon’s belief that India will continue to be a key driver of innovation, growth, and impact across its global businesses.
