Founded in November 2023 by Nikita Khanna and Anmol Ahlawat, Moxie Beauty was launched with a clear mission: to create haircare products specifically designed for Indian hair textures and climatic conditions. In a market long dominated by generic formulations, the brand differentiates itself by addressing concerns unique to Indian consumers, such as dryness, frizz, humidity damage, and styling challenges.

Within a short span of time, Moxie Beauty has built an impressive portfolio of 19 products, spanning everyday essentials like shampoos and conditioners, as well as styling solutions aimed at enhancing hair health and manageability. The brand emphasizes science-backed formulations, thoughtful ingredient selection, and solutions that work in real Indian conditions rather than one-size-fits-all global formulas.

According to the company, the freshly raised capital will be deployed across three strategic priorities. A significant portion will be invested in product innovation and research, enabling Moxie Beauty to expand its range and deepen its focus on performance-driven haircare. The startup also plans to hire top talent across product development, marketing, and operations to support its next phase of growth. Additionally, the funding will be used to expand distribution channels, strengthening both online presence and offline retail reach across key Indian markets.

Moxie Beauty aims to lead this shift by combining research, community-driven insights, and modern branding to build a trusted, homegrown haircare brand.

Lead investor Bessemer Venture Partners noted the brand’s sharp understanding of the Indian consumer, strong founder vision, and potential to scale rapidly in a fast-growing category. With increasing demand for specialized beauty products, Moxie Beauty is well-positioned to carve out a meaningful space in India’s D2C personal care ecosystem.
