Mumbai-Based Packaged Food Startup Alimento Agro Foods Raises INR 52 Cr in Series A Funding Led by IvyCap Ventures
Mumbai-based packaged food startup Alimento Agro Foods has raised INR 52 Cr (approximately $5.8 Mn) in its Series A funding round, led by IvyCap Ventures. The fresh infusion of capital marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth journey as it prepares to scale operations and strengthen its footprint across India’s fast-growing packaged food market.
Founded by Prateek Bhagchandka and Mugdha Bhagchandka, Alimento Agro Foods has steadily built a strong presence in the ready-to-eat and healthy snacks segment. The startup operates two food brands, with its flagship brand MOM – Meal of the Moment emerging as a popular choice among urban consumers seeking convenient, home-style meals without compromising on taste or nutrition.
Launched in 2017, MOM – Meal of the Moment offers a wide range of instant, ready-to-eat meals inspired by Indian comfort food. Its portfolio includes products such as vegetable biryani, masala upma, pongal, pav bhaji, along with healthier snack options like roasted makhanas and masala oats. The brand has positioned itself at the intersection of convenience, authenticity, and health, catering to busy professionals, students, and families looking for quick yet wholesome meal solutions.

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be deployed across three key areas. A significant portion will be used to expand manufacturing capacity, enabling Alimento Agro Foods to meet growing demand and improve operational efficiencies. The startup also plans to strengthen its nationwide distribution network, ensuring wider availability of its products across both online and offline retail channels. Additionally, the funds will be directed towards accelerating product innovation, with a focus on developing new offerings aligned with evolving consumer preferences around health, taste, and convenience.
Commenting on the funding, the founders emphasized that India’s packaged food industry is undergoing a major transformation, driven by changing lifestyles, increasing urbanization, and a growing demand for ready-to-eat meals. With this investment, Alimento Agro Foods aims to deepen its market penetration while continuing to deliver high-quality, affordable food products rooted in Indian flavors.

Investor IvyCap Ventures highlighted the startup’s strong execution, scalable business model, and clear understanding of consumer needs as key reasons for backing the company. The firm expressed confidence in Alimento Agro’s ability to build a trusted national brand in the packaged food space.
As Alimento Agro Foods enters its next phase of growth, the Series A funding positions the company to scale sustainably and strengthen its role in shaping the future of India’s ready-to-eat and healthy food ecosystem.
