Verdant Impact Raises $3 Million Seed Funding to Transform Bovine Genetics and Livestock Productivity
Agritech startup Verdant Impact, which focuses on bovine genetics and livestock productivity, has successfully raised $3 million (approximately ₹27 crore) in a seed funding round led by Unicorn India Ventures.
The round also saw participation from Infynyte Club, along with angel investors Yash Kotak and Alok Soni, and institutional support from a-IDEA, ICAR-NAARM (Association for Innovation Development of Entrepreneurship in Agriculture).

The fresh funding will help Verdant Impact strengthen its research and development (R&D) capabilities, enhance its Pashu.AI platform, expand its team, and upgrade its technology infrastructure using blockchain. The startup also plans to use part of the funds to expand its presence across North and North-East India, regions with significant livestock farming potential.
India has one of the world’s largest cattle populations, yet livestock productivity remains relatively low due to challenges such as limited access to quality breeding solutions, lack of genetic insights, and inefficient livestock management practices. Verdant Impact aims to address these challenges by leveraging advanced genetics, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies to improve breeding outcomes and overall dairy productivity.

At the core of the company’s innovation is Pashu.AI, a technology platform designed to provide farmers and livestock stakeholders with actionable insights related to bovine genetics, breeding, and herd management. By combining AI-driven analytics with genetic data, the platform helps identify high-potential cattle breeds, improve breeding efficiency, and support farmers in making informed decisions.
With the new funding, the company plans to significantly expand the capabilities of the Pashu.AI platform. The integration of blockchain technology will enhance data transparency and traceability across the livestock value chain, ensuring reliable records related to animal lineage, breeding history, and health data.
Verdant Impact will also invest heavily in R&D initiatives aimed at advancing genetic technologies that can help farmers breed healthier and more productive cattle. Improved genetics can lead to higher milk yields, better disease resistance, and increased profitability for dairy farmers.

In addition to technological advancements, the startup plans to expand its workforce by hiring experts in data science, genetics, agritech, and product development. This expansion will support the company’s goal of scaling its solutions to serve a larger number of farmers across the country.
By expanding into North and North-East India, Verdant Impact aims to bring modern livestock technologies to regions where traditional dairy farming practices still dominate.
With strong investor backing and a focus on innovation, Verdant Impact is positioning itself as a key player in India’s rapidly evolving agritech ecosystem, working toward a future where technology-driven solutions empower farmers and enhance the productivity of the country’s livestock sector.
