Atomberg Enters Large Appliance Components Manufacturing Ahead of IPO Plans

Mumbai-based home appliance startup Atomberg Technologies has announced its strategic entry into the large appliance components manufacturing segment, marking a significant step toward diversifying its revenue streams ahead of a potential IPO.

Through its subsidiary, Atomberg Innovation Private Limited, the company has begun designing and manufacturing critical components such as motors and controllers for appliances, including air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. These components will be supplied to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), positioning Atomberg as a key player in the B2B appliance ecosystem.

Founded with a strong focus on energy-efficient consumer appliances, Atomberg has built a solid reputation in the Indian market, particularly in the smart fan and home appliance categories. With this new move, the company is expanding beyond direct-to-consumer (D2C) products into a technology-driven B2B business model, unlocking new growth opportunities.

According to founder and CEO Manoj Meena, the venture is already witnessing early traction. Atomberg has successfully onboarded major OEMs such as Godrej and Voltas as clients for its components. The startup is also actively in discussions with several other OEMs to further expand its customer base.

A key highlight of this expansion is Atomberg’s claim of developing India’s first indigenous compressors for air conditioners. This innovation is particularly significant in the context of India’s push for local manufacturing and reduced dependence on imports. By building core appliance components domestically, Atomberg aims to contribute to strengthening the country’s manufacturing ecosystem while also improving cost efficiencies for OEM partners.

The move aligns well with broader industry trends, where companies are increasingly focusing on vertical integration and technology ownership to gain a competitive edge. By entering the components space, Atomberg not only diversifies its business but also gains deeper control over the value chain.

This strategic pivot comes at a crucial time as the company gears up for a potential initial public offering (IPO). Expanding into high-margin B2B segments can enhance revenue stability and improve overall business scalability, factors that are closely evaluated by public market investors.

As demand for home appliances continues to grow in India, driven by rising incomes and urbanization, Atomberg’s dual strategy of consumer-facing products and backend manufacturing capabilities positions it strongly for long-term growth.

With innovation at its core and strong early partnerships in place, Atomberg Technologies is now evolving from a product brand into a comprehensive appliance technology company, ready to play a larger role in India’s manufacturing and consumer ecosystem.
