Balwaan Krishi Raises ₹100 Crore Series B to Scale Farm Equipment Manufacturing and Distribution
Agritech startup Balwaan Krishi has raised ₹100 crore in a Series B funding round led by First Bridge India Growth Fund, with participation from other institutional investors. The fresh capital will support the company’s plans to expand domestic manufacturing, strengthen its distribution and service network, and develop new farm equipment designed for Indian agricultural conditions.
Founded in 2016, Balwaan Krishi operates in the agricultural machinery and equipment segment, providing farmers with tools and machines aimed at improving productivity and reducing manual effort. The Jaipur-based startup says its equipment is currently used by more than 4 lakh farmers and that it has built a network of over 800 dealers across northern India.

With the latest funding, Balwaan plans to accelerate its manufacturing capabilities within India while expanding its presence in southern India. The company will focus on strengthening its dealer network as well as its after-sales service infrastructure, enabling farmers in new markets to access both equipment and servicing support.
A key focus area for Balwaan will be the development of new farm machinery tailored to the requirements of Indian farmers. The company plans to build products including power weeders and battery-operated sprayers, while also exploring connected technologies that can provide greater visibility into machine usage and maintenance.

The proposed connected features are expected to help monitor equipment and identify potential maintenance requirements, allowing users and service teams to address issues more proactively. Such technology could also provide manufacturers with useful information about equipment performance and usage patterns.
India’s agricultural sector continues to have significant demand for mechanisation, particularly as farmers seek ways to improve operational efficiency and reduce dependence on manual labour. However, equipment adoption can vary considerably across regions and farm sizes. Developing products specifically for local farming conditions is therefore an important part of Balwaan‘s product strategy.

The company’s expansion into southern India represents another major step in its growth journey. By combining expanded manufacturing capacity with a wider dealer and service network, Balwaan aims to make its agricultural equipment accessible to a larger number of farmers.
Commenting on the fundraise, co-founder Rohit said, “This funding allows us to strengthen manufacturing, broaden our reach and continue building products specifically for Indian farming conditions.”
The investment from First Bridge India Growth Fund and other institutional investors will provide Balwaan with additional resources to execute its manufacturing, product development and geographic expansion plans.

As Balwaan Krishi enters its next phase of growth, the company is focusing on building a broader agricultural equipment ecosystem that combines locally manufactured machinery, regional distribution, after-sales service and connected technology.
With more than four lakh farmers reportedly using its products and an established dealer network, the company now aims to strengthen its presence across India while continuing to develop equipment designed around the evolving needs of Indian agriculture.
