Bengaluru-Based Pixxel Raises $100 Million Series C to Expand Earth Intelligence and Satellite Infrastructure
Bengaluru-based Earth observation startup Pixxel has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round, taking the company’s total funding to $195 million. The latest investment marks a significant milestone for the Indian space technology company as it expands beyond hyperspectral imaging and builds a broader ecosystem spanning satellites, Earth intelligence software, manufacturing, and sovereign Earth observation infrastructure.
The Series C round was led by Temasek and Seraphim. Pixxel plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate its next phase of growth and strengthen its capabilities across the rapidly evolving global Earth observation market.
A major focus of the investment will be expanding Pixxel’s satellite sensing capabilities. The company plans to advance its Honeybee constellation while also developing high-resolution optical satellite capabilities. These initiatives are expected to help Pixxel capture and analyze increasingly detailed information about the Earth, supporting industries and governments with valuable data for decision-making.

The company is also investing in Aurora, its Earth intelligence platform. Aurora is expected to play a key role in transforming complex satellite data into actionable intelligence. Earth observation technology is increasingly being used across agriculture, climate monitoring, environmental protection, infrastructure planning, defense, disaster management, and resource management, creating a growing demand for advanced satellite data and intelligence platforms.
Beyond satellites and software, Pixxel is planning to develop sovereign Earth observation systems, enabling governments and organizations to build and operate more independent space-based intelligence capabilities.

Another important part of Pixxel’s expansion strategy is Gigapixxel, its satellite manufacturing initiative. Through Gigapixxel, the company aims to scale satellite production and strengthen its ability to manufacture advanced space technology at a larger scale.
The $100 million funding round represents more than just a financial milestone. It signals Pixxel’s strategic evolution from a company primarily focused on hyperspectral imaging into a broader Earth intelligence and space infrastructure business.

With total funding now reaching $195 million, Pixxel is positioning itself to compete in the growing global market for satellite technology and Earth observation intelligence. The company’s expansion across satellite constellations, AI-powered software platforms, sovereign systems, and manufacturing reflects the increasing importance of space-based data in solving real-world challenges on Earth.
As India’s space technology ecosystem continues to grow, Pixxel’s latest funding round highlights the increasing global investor interest in Indian deep-tech and space startups building technology for international markets.
