CURRYiT Bags Deal on Shark Tank India Season 5, Secures ₹1.5 Cr Investment from Mohit Yadav
Delhi-based D2C food startup CURRYiT made a strong impression on Shark Tank India Season 5, successfully securing an investment after an engaging pitch that highlighted the brand’s mission to simplify authentic Indian cooking for modern households.
Founded in 2020 by Nischal Kandula and Richa Sharma, CURRYiT is a New Delhi–based D2C brand offering clean, preservative-free Indian cooking pastes. The brand enables consumers to prepare traditional Indian meals in just 15 minutes, eliminating the need for chopping, complex preparation, or kitchen mess—without compromising on taste or authenticity.

During their pitch, the founders sought ₹60 lakh for 1% equity, valuing the company at ₹60 crore. They showcased CURRYiT’s growing product portfolio of over 20 SKUs spanning curry bases, biryani pastes, and vegetable gravies, each crafted to deliver consistent flavor while meeting rising consumer demand for clean-label and convenience-led food solutions.
The pitch drew interest from the Sharks, with Mohit Yadav making a compelling counter-offer of ₹1.5 crore for 3.3% equity, along with an additional 1.2% advisory equity. After thoughtful deliberation, Nischal Kandula and Richa Sharma accepted the offer, successfully closing the deal and marking a major milestone in CURRYiT’s growth journey.
CURRYiT’s value proposition resonated strongly on the show, tapping into a growing segment of urban consumers who want the comfort of home-style Indian food without the time-intensive preparation. By combining traditional recipes with modern food processing, the brand bridges the gap between convenience and authenticity, an area where many packaged food brands fall short.

Commenting on the partnership, the founders highlighted that the investment is not just about capital, but also strategic guidance. With Mohit Yadav’s experience in scaling consumer-facing businesses, CURRYiT aims to accelerate product innovation, strengthen distribution, and deepen brand awareness across India.
The Shark Tank India appearance has further amplified CURRYiT’s visibility, reinforcing its position as a promising player in India’s fast-growing D2C food ecosystem. As consumers increasingly prioritize clean ingredients, convenience, and authentic taste, CURRYiT is well-positioned to become a go-to brand for everyday Indian cooking, making “ghar ka khana” faster, simpler, and stress-free.
