Uber Partners with AbhiBus to Launch Intercity Bus Ticketing Services in India
Global ride-hailing platform Uber has partnered with AbhiBus, the bus booking platform owned by travel technology company ixigo, to introduce intercity bus ticketing services within the Uber app in India. This collaboration marks the first global market where Uber is launching integrated intercity bus bookings, expanding the company’s mobility ecosystem beyond ride-hailing.
The partnership aims to simplify travel planning for users by allowing them to search, compare, and book bus tickets directly within the Uber app. By integrating AbhiBus’s advanced booking technology and strong operator network, Uber users will be able to access a wide range of bus services across multiple routes without leaving the platform.

Through this integration, travelers can discover various bus options, check real-time seat availability, and select their preferred seats seamlessly. The feature is designed to provide a convenient booking experience while helping users make informed decisions based on travel preferences and availability.
One of the key highlights of the service is the ability for users to filter buses by type, including categories such as AC, Sleeper, Seater, Volvo, and Scania. This allows passengers to choose the travel option that best fits their comfort level, budget, and journey duration.
To further enhance transparency and user confidence, the platform will also display 360-degree bus images on select routes, enabling travelers to get a detailed view of the vehicle before making a booking. Such features aim to improve the decision-making process by offering greater visibility into travel conditions.

Passengers will also benefit from real-time bus tracking, allowing them to monitor the live status of their bus and receive updates about their journey. This feature helps reduce uncertainty and ensures travelers can plan their arrival at boarding points more efficiently.
In addition, users will have access to “Abhi Assured,” a service that provides defined compensation benefits in case of disruptions such as delays or cancellations. This offering is designed to improve customer trust and ensure greater reliability in bus travel services.
The partnership also includes 24×7 customer support, ensuring that travelers receive assistance whenever needed during the booking or travel process.

The launch of bus ticketing services reflects Uber’s broader strategy to evolve into a comprehensive mobility platform, offering multiple transportation options through a single app. For ixigo and AbhiBus, the collaboration provides access to Uber’s massive user base, helping expand their reach and drive greater adoption of digital bus ticketing services.
As India’s travel and mobility ecosystem continues to grow, partnerships like this highlight how technology platforms are working together to deliver more integrated, convenient, and flexible travel experiences for millions of users across the country.
