Marvell Technology to Invest $250 Million in India, Reinforcing the Country’s Growing Semiconductor Ambitions

India’s semiconductor ecosystem has received another major boost as Marvell Technology, a leading US-based semiconductor company, announced plans to invest $250 million over the next three years to expand its operations in the country. The investment reflects growing global confidence in India’s engineering talent and its emergence as a strategic destination for semiconductor design and innovation.

According to the company, the fresh investment will be directed toward strengthening Marvell’s chip design capabilities, expanding research and development activities, and doubling its engineering workforce in India. India’s large pool of highly skilled semiconductor engineers, software developers, and design professionals continues to attract global technology companies seeking world-class research and product development capabilities.

The announcement comes at a crucial time when the Government of India is aggressively strengthening the country’s semiconductor ecosystem. Recently, the Central Government approved a ₹1.28 lakh crore outlay for the second phase of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), aimed at accelerating semiconductor manufacturing, chip design, packaging, research, and talent development. The initiative forms a key part of India’s broader vision to become a global semiconductor powerhouse and reduce dependence on imported chips.
